Hello, I am a musician from Kelso, Scottish Borders. My main instrument is 5-row Button Accordion but I also plays Highland Bagpipes, Guitar, Keyboards, Drums, Bass and Bohdran. I am a solo artiste who plays around the Scottish Borders and further afield at clubs, functions and weddings. The accordion I use is midi-fitted and therefore I can cater for all types of music including Scottish, Country, MOR and Rock. I also play in Kelso Pipe Band and am a regular attender and Guest Artiste at various accordion clubs in the Borders and Lothians areas, and also at Kelso Folk Club, which meets every Friday night in the Cobbles Inn, Kelso. I have played the accordion since aged 9 and have played all over the UK and at various events in France and Spain. My albums are scattered throughout the world as far as Australia and New Zealand and several of my compositions have featured on other well known Scottish Dance Band recordings and radio broadcasts. The accordion I currently play is a Roland FR7xb, which is the second latest model in Roland's V-Accordion range (Shown above ). I also play a Fantini 5-Row Continental as pictured elsewhere on this site and also a Beltuna Aktiv. All boxes are midi-fitted and connect to a Ketron SD90 Music Expander for modern music and a Digitech Harmony Unit for vocals enabling me to play all the types of music as mentioned above. For authentic Scottish Dance Band music I also use the latest V3 Module which produces a fantastic Scottish Dance Band sound.
I am available for bookings for weddings, clubs, pubs, and private functions. Also available as a piper for weddings.

Blackthorne Ceilidh Band
I also have a ceilidh band called the "Blackthorne Ceilidh Band". The name comes from my late Grandfather, Jock Liddle, who had a dance band in the 50's called the Blackthorn Band. The band consists of me on lead box, the very talented Louise Douglas from Hawick on fiddle and my auld mucker Charlie McIntee on 2nd box. We have now done umpteen accordion club guest artiste spots in the last four years, including venues such as Livingston, Gretna, Lockerbie, Tynedale, Ellon, and Arbroath.

I am now also a presenter on internet radio station www.mkbindependentradio.com with my show "Bob Liddle's Box and Fiddle Show", airing every Friday evening from 7-8pm and repeated the same time the following Sunday. Also on www.td1radio.scot on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and on www.radiogh.co.uk on Saturday at 9am, Monday at 2pm and Tuesday at 8pm, and www.celticmusicradio.co.uk every Friday at 5pm.. The show promotes accordion and fiddle music, not just from Scotland, but from the rest of the UK and around the world.
